Corporate Social Responsibility Policy |
Based on MCA-CSR Voluntary guidelines 2009 and recommendation, the Company has put in place a sound Corporate Social Responsibility Policy with a view to adding value to its business operations and for working towards a long term commitment of uplifting the well being of the community.
- Interest of Stakeholders :
Corporate Social Responsibility is becoming an integral part of good management across the world. Indian companies are now expected to discharge their stakeholder responsibilities and societal obligations along with their goal of maximization of shareholder wealth. Corporates, big and small, national and transnational are making efforts to earn customer loyalty through community development schemes, good corporate governance and by engaging stakeholders, within and outside the company. Relationship with the stakeholders thrives on trust, ethics and transparent business practices.
- Ethical functioning:
Company has to make sure that its products and services comply with the provisions of the laws of the land. Dealings with the customers should firmly rest on ethical principles of integrity and transparency. STCI has in place a Fair Practice Code which sets minimum fair practice standards for the company.
- Respect for Workers Rights and Welfare:
The Company believes that its employees are its asset and has designed a comprehensive document to cover the various policies that are applicable to the employees as well as to provide information concerning important policies, procedures, benefits, privileges and responsibilities, keeping in tune with the current market practices. The Company has in place a 'Whistle Blower Policy' for employees for reporting any kind of unethical behaviour, actual or suspected, fraud or violation of the Company's code of conduct. The Company follows an open door policy and encourages employees to share their views and concerns with the top management.
- Environment:
Compliance with laws, rules and regulations is not a part of CSR initiative. CSR is doing something voluntarily for social good. For, example, compliance with environmental laws or safety norms is not a CSR initiative. But to do something more than what is required by law for environment protection is a CSR initiative. The concept and movement of “CSR” for disaster and environmental management has been growing rapidly in the corporate world.
Keeping in view the above principles, STCI may initiate CSR in some of the following areas: -
